OVPR Research Development supports teams of UT Austin principal investigators who are pursuing major external research funding. Complex, interdisciplinary and team proposals are the priority. With a focus on content strategy, services include the below and more, depending on the unique needs of each proposal.

- Substantive draft editing for clarity and impact

- Red Team (external) review of proposal drafts
Services provided depend on the needs of the PI, the level of local research administration support and availability of resources. The Research Development team serves all CSUs and can assist with any field of research, scholarship or creative endeavor. Complex, interdisciplinary and team proposals are the priority.
Eligibility
- Must be pursuing a specific funding opportunity
- Proposal must be beyond the scope or capacity of local research support
- UT must be the lead/prime institution
- PIs must be engaged throughout the process
- Must bring Research Development on board early enough to be of benefit to the proposal
