The ACES IT Group was formed in 1999 to support and maintain the integrated technology (IT) within the new state-of-the-art Applied Computational Engineering and Sciences (ACES) Building. Now known as the Peter O'Donnell, Jr. Building (POB), the ACES IT Group provides building management along with the maintenance and support of numerous presentation rooms, including the scheduling and operation of the building's webcasting and web conference facilities. Originally consisting of four people, there are now ten members on the ACES IT Group team. In addition to POB, they also provide comprehensive and robust IT support services for the Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR), Office of Research Support and Compliance (RSC), Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), Office of Industry Engagement (OIE), Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC), Animal Resource Center (ARC) and the Postdoctoral Office. These support services are comprised of user support as well as hardware and software support. Hardware support encompasses everything from personal hand-held devices and desktops to the servers running institutional wide software applications. The software support encompasses everything from desktop applications and web site support to custom enterprise web applications.
