Micro and Nano Manufacturing

Micro & Nano Manufacturing

Mico and nano manufacturing

Micro and Nano Manufacturing focuses on the scalable fabrication of materials, structures, and devices with micro/nanoscale features (micrometers to 1 nm). The critical scientific and engineering challenge of this research thrust is to achieve high spatial resolution, pattern precision, and fabrication throughput. Advances in this area have applications in microelectronics, flexible electronics/display, integrated sensors, nanophotonics, multifunctional materials, biomedical and emerging quantum devices.  The University of Texas at Austin has strong research expertise in “top-down” nanolithography, “bottom-up” self-assembly/synthesis, direct 3D micro/nanoscale printing, manufacturing of flexible devices, advanced packaging, and high-throughput metrology.
