Jean Anne Incorvia

Faculty Director

Jean Anne C. Incorvia is an Engineering Foundation Endowed Faculty and Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. As the Faculty Director of the Microelectronics Research Center (MRC), she oversees the research vision of the center and provides technical leadership of the MRC Core Facility, with the goal of supporting world-class research, development, and education using the MRC.

Incorvia’s research group, the Integrated Nano Computing (INC) Lab, develops nanodevices using emerging physics and materials, with an emphasis on applications in computing. This includes research in neuromorphic brain-inspired computing, spintronics, nanomagnetism, in-memory computing, 2D materials-based computing, computing in extreme environments, and application of new materials to energy and health.

Roberto Panepucci

Roberto Panepucci

Managing Director

Roberto Panepucci brings an outstanding combination of technical expertise and leadership experience to the Managing Director position at MRC. He earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in III-V compound semiconductor nanostructures. Over the years, he has contributed to both academic and industrial research and development projects, as well as research infrastructure development, in faculty roles at Florida International University and leadership positions at key research institutes in Brazil.

His work has spanned optoelectronics, silicon photonics, MEMS, neural probes and nanofabrication and advanced device technologies in general. Prior to joining UT Austin, he served as a senior researcher at the Cornell NanoScale Science and Technology Facility (CNF), where he played a pivotal role in enabling high-impact research in advanced lithography supporting a broad user community.
