TNF@MRC facilitates education, research and development in electronic, photonic, optoelectrical, spintronic and micro-electromechanical (MEMS) materials, devices and systems for a variety of applications including digital, neuromorphic and quantum computing, high-speed communications, displays, sensors, and power applications. It features 12,000 ft² of shared-use cleanroom space and comprehensive advanced nanofabrication instruments.

TNF@TMI at the University of Texas at Austin focuses on excellence in education and research in the broad field of materials, including a shared-user facility and graduate program. TMI plays a central role in shaping the future of materials science and engineering on the UT campus. Its facilities include advanced materials analysis and spectroscopy, as well as nanofabrication capabilities.

TNF@TIE is leading the next wave of semiconductor manufacturing innovation through advanced 3D heterogeneous integration (3DHI), developing solutions for artificial intelligence, defense, automotive, telecommunications, and healthcare. TIE is building the nation’s first pure play 3DHI microsystems foundry—a platform for speed, scale, and accessibility that bridges prototyping and high volume manufacturing to advance interconnect technologies, develop future semiconductor leaders, and accelerate commercialization.

TNF@CDCM is an NSF MRSEC, bringing science and engineering researchers together to create materials with new atomic-scale structures and functionalities, and to develop approaches for actively controlling and reconfiguring materials in real time. The center at UT includes a shared-use optical lab.

TNF@TQI advances UT as a national leader in quantum science and engineering by tackling key challenges in semiconductor and quantum technologies while fostering strong, collaborative partnerships. Drawing on core research faculty across the university, TQI drives cross‑disciplinary quantum innovation in materials, metrology, algorithms, and systems.
