Financial Conflict of Interest

Faculty researchers are required to disclose to the University all outside employment on a Financial Interest Disclosure Form (FID) submitted as part of the University’s Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy. Thus, consulting agreements must be disclosed. If it appears the consulting agreement relates to research conducted by the faculty member the matter is referred to the Objectivity in Research Committee to determine 1) whether the conflict can be managed and, if so, 2) develop with the faculty member a COI Management Plan on how research will be conducted in light of the COI. Note that if the Committee determines the conflict can not be adequately managed the University will not allow the research to proceed. For all questions relating to Conflict of Interest, visit the Conflict of Interest page at the Office of Research Support and Compliance website.
