Shut Up and Write: A Distraction-Free Proposal Writing Day
The Office of the Vice President for Research is offering a one-day writing retreat for UT principal investigators (both faculty and staff) who are working toward a confirmed proposal submission deadline.
This event is for PIs who are working on proposals with submission deadlines of February, March or April 2019. PIs from all academic units are invited to request a seat at Shut Up and Write. Some upcoming opportunities with deadlines in this timeframe include: Welch Foundation research grants, NEH Fellowships, Spencer Foundation Small Research Grants, and an NIH R01 cycle deadline.
There will be no formal agenda or presentations associated with this event – just a distraction-free atmosphere with basic necessities covered, allowing PIs to focus on proposal writing and to avoid the interruptions that often occur when working out of your usual campus office.
VPR will provide:
- Parking vouchers
- Seating, power strips
- Breakfast and lunch buffets
- Coffee, tea, sodas and snacks throughout the day
- VPR and OSP support staff on hand to answer your proposal questions
There is no fee to attend, but you must have a seat reserved in order to participate.
Registration is now closed. To express interests in future events, contact the Office of the VP for Research.
