Pop-up Institute: Beyond the Future of Work
BEYOND THE FUTURE OF WORK
New Paradigms for Addressing Global Inequality
Please join us for some or all of our four-week Pop-Up Institute! This exciting series of events will bring together scholars, advocates, and activists from around the world to share a wide range of innovative approaches that move us toward more just and equitable futures of work and livelihood. It will be structured around five clusters that UT researchers have been engaged in over the past year: Critical Perspectives on AI and Technology, Essential Work, Care Work, the Future of Work across the Global South, and the Future of Artistic Labor.
Keynote panelists include scholars – Adelle Blackett (McGill University), Aaron Benanav (Humboldt University of Berlin), Prabha Kotiswaran (King’s College London), and Juan De Lara (University of Southern California-Dornsife) – and representatives from leading worker advocacy organizations – Lise Soskolne (W.A.G.E.), Lenny Sanchez (Gig Workers Matter), Katie Joaquin (Jobs to Move America), and Emily Timm (Workers Defense Project).
Sarita Gupta, Director of the Ford Foundation’s Future of Work(ers) program, will deliver a keynote address.
The Institute is free and open to the public. All sessions will take place via Zoom. Please circulate widely!
