The Neurodegeneration Chalk Talk Series will help UT Austin and MD Anderson investigators understand the diverse neuroscience research ongoing at each institution. Every month, we will feature two speakers, one from each site. These investigators will provide an overview of the science within their labs, discuss their recent results, and talk about future plans. Each talk will be 30 minutes, including questions.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Peripheral, imaging, and functional biomarkers of central nervous system (CNS) disease status.
  • Novel next generation models of CNS disorders
  • CNS drug delivery platform across the blood brain barrier (nanoparticles, ultrasound, in vitro BBBmodels, etc)
  • Novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders
  • Utilizing non-human primates in neurodegeneration and cognitive impairment research
  • Glymphatic system and clearance of toxins from the brain
