The Health and Humanities Research Seminar Series sponsored by the Humanities Institute and Dell Medical School, continues with a guest speaker on December 3 at 4pm:

Courtney Donovan, Ph.D. will give a talk on her research on “Digital Health, Health Humanities, and Barriers to Care: Integrating Arts, Humanities, and Technology to Understand Health Disparities.” Dr. Donovan is Associate Professor, Department of Geography & Environment, San Francisco State University. Her visit will focus on health narratives and health disparities in the Bay Area. The seminar is sponsored by the “Communities of Care” research project, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Sterling Clark Holloway Centennial Lectureship.

The Health and Humanities Research Seminar Series is an outgrowth of the 2018 Pop-Up Institute on Health and the Humanities co-sponsored by the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors Office and the Humanities Institute. All seminars run from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm (doors open and refreshments available at 3:45 pm). Each seminar begins with a presentation, followed by group discussion and then informal socializing over appetizers. The venue is the University of Texas Club, on the east side of DKR stadium at 2108 Robert Dedman Drive (the entrance is between Gates 27 & 28 and opposite Clyde Littlefield Drive). Parking is available in the Manor Garage, which is just across Robert Dedman Drive from the UT Club.
