Gravitational Physiology Meeting at TAMU

During this meeting, TAMU will be hosting a grand opening of the human-rated centrifuge facility at the Human Clinical Research Facility, just 3 blocks away from the conference hotel on campus. NASA has gifted their centrifuge formerly used at UTMB-Galveston to A&M under agreements with Dr. Bonnie Dunbar of TAMU Aerospace Engineering. To our knowledge, this will be the only human–rated centrifuge in the U.S. open to researchers outside of military laboratories. It could also accommodate rodents, plants and cell culture preparations, so any PI’s interested in altered gravitational environments will be interested in this capability.
